Hello friends,
Today I am going to review about this awesome magical product
called Retino-A.
Brief history:
Like every other girl, I suffered from acne problem since the age
of 15. I had clear spotless face before my breakouts. My pimples were
predominantly found on my forehead, nose and the chin since I had combination
skin (oily in the T-zone and dry on the other parts of the face). I tried
almost everything from home remedies to ointments, visited 4 to 5
dermatologists. My pimples just wont go. I have been battling with this problem
for 6 years till I turned 21, and one day I found this super product called Retino-A.
My brother suffered from pimples too and he had visited a
dermatologist and was prescribed with this cream. I wanted to give it a try,
because I dint give up even after 6 years of battle, and I just wanted to make
my pimples go away whatsoever. The results of using the cream - MAGICAL!!!
What is Retino-A:
Retino-A is a Tretinoin
cream manufactured by Johnson and Johnson Limited in India. Retino-A is available in 2 concentrations – 0.025% and
0.05% Tretinoin cream. The price of Retino-A 0.025% (blue) is Rs. 103.69 for a 20 gm tube. (Please recheck the latest prices before
buying). Both women and men can use Retino-A.
How it works:
Tretinoin is a derivative of vitamin A. It works to alter the skin
cells by modulating gene expression, rather than inducing cell necrosis
(death). The effect of tretinoin is the speeding of skin cell turnover,
reducing breakouts and producing smoother, younger looking skin. Melanocytes,
the skin cells responsible for skin pigment, are suppressed by tretinoin. This
decreases skin discoloration and uneven skin tone. As a result, also the fine
lines and wrinkles are reduced, skin feels smoother and looks more evenly
colored.
Advantages:
- Works
amazing on pimples, acne, blemishes.
- Easy
to apply, the cream fades away after applying
- Works
on cellular level, unlike other creams
- The
ONLY product that I find actually works on pimples
- Results
in short span of time
Disadvantages:
- Skin
becomes sensitive to sunlight, so always use a sunscreen and apply the
cream only in the night
- Initially
your pimples may increase. Don't panic and stop. That's the biggest
mistake most people do and they just give up. Be patient. The reason why
pimples increase is the cream brings out the hidden
pimples outside (i.e. the ones ready to pop on your face in the
future, like in 5 or 6 days) and eradicates everything completely. How
sweet of the cream! :D
My experience:
As I already mentioned, I have used almost all medications for my
pimples and the only product which actually worked for me is Retino-A. I used
the 0.025% concentration. I would suggest you to begin with this concentration
since the red tube with 0.05% is not mild like the blue one. Also, I used the red one and found that my skin started to flake around the pimples. It means the concentration is strong for my skin. I am 200% satisfied
with this cream. I found my results in 45 days. It's worth using this
product.
Before-After picture:
Please don't mind about my skin tone in the above picture. One was
taken with flash and one without flash. I had many more pimples (10 times more)
than in this before picture I have posted, but unfortunately I don't have a
picture of that, I could find only this image.
My advice to new users:
- Read the instructions manual
carefully before applying. There are certain people who shouldn't use such
as pregnant and lactating women.
- Never give up if your pimples
increase while using the cream. Remember, it is a process. It means the
cream is actually working.
- After your pimples fade, use
the cream once or twice a week to prevent pimples popping in the future
and for maintenance of clear face.
So what are you waiting for? Fight those pimples, start the
battle! I have finished the battle already! I won! :)
Take care.
